Fear
vs. Courage
Katherine M. Sprague, Psy.D.
“Courage is resistance of fear, mastery
of fear, not absence of fear” -Mark Twain
Fear
can take hold of us and make us think our dreams are
unattainable. Fear can stop us in our tracks before we even get
going. When we are afraid of failing we are afraid of something
that hasn’t even happened. Fear and anxiety are natural
emotions we experience when faced with obstacles; however,
successful individuals are those who experience fear and do
whatever they’re scared of anyways.

Are
You a Filler or a Dipper?
M.J. Clark, MA, APR
I can’t tell you how many people have
recommended to me the book How Full is Your Bucket? by
Tom Rath and Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D. A group of executives at
Waste Management that I coached read the book together, and then
a realtor friend of mine named Carol Huber mentioned it shortly
thereafter. When I told Carol I have heard of the book many
times and haven’t had a chance to read it yet, she sent it to me
in the mail.

Importance of Humor
Nancy Quinn Rummel, ACS
April
is National Humor Month and this seems more important during
these stressful times. Humor is so important to our health. So

me chuckle.
I recall, as a young manager, greeting my boss at the
airport to fly to an out-of-town meeting. We had a very early
flight and were rushing to our gate when suddenly I felt
something slide out of one of my pants legs.

A Great Marriage is Crucial to
Effective Leadership
Steven L. Anderson, Ph.D., MBA
I coach a lot
of leaders whose number one problem is tension in their
marriage. Many of them have given up on their marriage and hope
to find happiness in their business lives. But, this is not
possible.
Marriage is the foundation of a good life.
If you want
to be a good leader, you have to have integrity. If you want to
have integrity, I suggest you start in the
most fundamental place; make sure
your marriage is sound.
